Zooter zooms around... and today so did mommy. Ama and I headed to the church around 10 am this morning to set up for Maggie's Jungle Junction Birthday Party. I was really pleased with how well the fellowship hall looked after we were done. It was a jungle in there!
As the party crowed gathered Ellie took a few minutes to color character magnets that Ama made. They were super cute but I didnt get a close up photo. Sorry!
Our first game was based on Muddy Zooter. In the show Zooter gets all muddy and has to take a bubble bath. I was so excited to find this game on clearance at Target. For less than $5 I got an inflatable knock-off version of hungry hippos complete with muddy pigs and "bubbles"!
Maggie overseeing Parker, Davis and Peyton's game!
Then we went to King Ellyvan corner and played Pin the Tail on Ellyvan. Maggie did really well (hers is up near Ellyvan's ear). In fact I was super impressed with how well the kids did with this game. Peyton was really cute trying to find the wall.
After we made sure Ellyvan's tail was secure we decided to rescue Toadhog. In A Bubbly Emergency Toadhog gets stuck in a tree. My friend Michelle helped me make a paper mache pinata. I was really pleased with how it came out and even more impressed with how it held up. It was the perfect pinata and probably my favorite part of the party. Maggie gave it a few good whacks.
After a while we gave up the blindfolds and let Davis deliver the final blow!
Toadhog was full of fifi flies!
Ok so I said we rescued him. More like we beat him up and left him hanging. But that's what pinatas are for right?
Then everyone picked their favorite sock puppet...
...and we had a Thing-um puppet show. They barely reached over the table but the "show" was really cute.
Next up we took the beetlebugs on a Big Race Around. Madison took hers around and around and around!
We played Wheeler Ball and Meredith got a slam dunk! Then everyone "won" a super bouncy ball.
We were busy serving during the eating part of the party, but this is what that part of the room looked like:
When I got home I took a photo of a fruity waffle. The kids made their own fruity waffles (I made waffles out of cake batter) and had smoothies and Pip Pip juice (apple juice) from Taxicrabs Smoothie Bar. And of course we sang Happy Birthday to Maggie.
Last but not least we spent a little time opening presents. The kids were really into everything and so well behaved. Maggie loved her presents.
After the party the girls had a little fun with the balloons. I don think Nora had any intention of letting go!
Maggie could have floated away with all these balloons.
When we arrived home we decided to have a little "after" party. I think the girls will continue to enjoy the ball pit for a long time to come.
It was a great party. I cant believe Maggie is 4 but so far this year is off to a terrific start. This party was just the icing on the cake!
What a very unique & imaginative birthday party! I enjoyed the blog. Thank you for sharing. Maggie & Nora will be grown up before we know it! I love you all.
