While Maggie was at school yesterday a wily little Leprechaun went running through our house! He left clues for Maggie to try and find him. Unfortunately when we got to the final clue he was gone, but we found lots of little "treasures" along the way.
The first clue was in Maggie's car seat when she came home. It said:
'Hee, hee, hee - bet you cant catch me!'
Nora and I met Ama and Maggie at the door. We'd bumped into the leprechaun on the way to the door. Maggie found the second letter on Nora's back.
'Look really hard and see; If under the table you might find me.'
So we were off... Under the table we found a little hat and another clue:
'Whoops, my hat, I'd better hurry; To the bathroom I must scurry.'
Alas, that silly leprechaun was in such a hurry that he lost his pants!
'I lost my pants what will I do; To your closet, I'll look for new.'
We were beginning to wonder if we'd ever catch up him when we found his shoes.
'Aha, woo hoo, my shoes, my shoes; Under the crib for a quick snooze.'
We were sure we'd catch that napping leprechaun this time, but he must have heard us coming. He left so fast he lost a lock of hair!
'Tickle, tickle, cough and sneeze; A lock of hair and a bite of cheese.'
(This may seem odd but it made sense to us because silly Nora always coughs before she sneezes)
Maggie knew right where to find the cheese, but there was no leprechaun in the fridge!
'Belly bulging my belt's too tight; It's the middle of day - turn off your nightlight.'
That leprechaun was a big help here - I am constantly reminding Maggie to turn off the nightlight in the middle of the day.
'Alas what's left... my shirt of green; My pot of gold is where you get clean!'
And sure enough in the bathtub we found a tiny pot of gold complete with 3 gold coins!!!
'Happy St. Patrick's Day! See you next year.'
Maggie's lucky treasure!
Here's a recap of our hunt and a closer look at the leprechaun's outfit. I didnt mention it to Maggie but I am worried that the leprechaun might be a little cold without his clothes on!
In addition to the pot of gold Maggie got some green froggy slippers.
Here's Nora with her 'Happy 1st St. Patrick's Day Frog' named Clover.
(I'd made Maggie a Happy 1st Valentines Day Puppy named Valentino but didnt have time to get Nora's done before her first V-day. I am pretty sure this is just as good.)
We had a blast this March the 17th. Hope you all enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day and wore lots of green to avoid being pinched!
